  Calling the Borg "Mother"

  hey all,.

  i have noticed many of the elders in my hall are now calling the wtbs "mother" from the stage during their talks now.

  it happens at least once per meeting.

  I never really heard the term much until I decided to stop attending meetings and told a close friend why - she told me in no uncertain terms that the organisation was her mother and that as I was disrespecting the org it was as it I was disrespecting her own mother. WTF? I thought at the time, something is seriously amiss here, one of my best friends is talking more like a cult member than a friend......

  Baby name suggestions?

  boy or girl names, don't know for sure which as of yet.

  preferably something with apostate or rock musician connotations.

  i thought of "stevie ray" as in stevie ray vaughan and as a tribute to both steven hassan and ray franz but it sounds a bit too redneck for my taste.

  How about Kiedis (boy or girl - pronounced Kee-dis) after the great Anthony Kiedis from the Chillis - you could even pronounce it Kades, to rhyme with Hades!

  Or how about the name Sam/Samantha - I've always liked my name and always get complimentary comments about it (even though now it's associated with apostacy....), and there's still not too many of us about.......

  Family Worship Night Rule.....

  i have it on good authority that at the recent circuit assembly it was announced from the platform that there had been reports of groups of families and friends getting together to study on family worship night and that this was not to continue as fwn is for families only and not for other brothers and sisters to get involved in.. oh, and if you live alone, then you have to study on your own, you alone are your family, you are not to join anyone else's fwn (although i'm sure they didn't mean you couldn't join your blood family's fwn....).

  the level of control never ceases to amaze me...... .

  I would bet my house on the likelihood that soon you'll be seeing something in print that backs up what this Stand In CO said from the platform of Hayesbridge Assembly Hall - a reminder of specifically what the new free night is for and what it is NOT for.

  It's sad because all these brothers and sisters getting together were genuinely trying to do the right thing instead of just using their new free night to watch more TV, go out or do whatever else took their fancy. It was probably more fun and encouraging to have a larger group.

  But no, any fun must be nipped in the bud lest it lead to apostasy, the greatest sin of all........

  Thank you for sharing your experience Soledad, it was an entertaining read.

  We spent a great day and evening as a family and didn't give the Memorial a second thought, not until we visited here of course!

  Good to hear we didn't miss anything. What a sad charade and total waste of time the whole thing is. If only they knew......

  i have been lurking in the shadows for a while now i just got my account from the fine administrators of this board.

  i have really enjoyed reading the well thought out comments and critiques of the wts doctrine.. i have been around the wts since i was 5 i left for a while during high school got to live a little worldly/normal life then got sucked back in.

  my wife has been raised in the truth and even though weve been inactive (for a while now), she still has thoughts about the earthly hope and seeing her grandparents some day.
